Weekly Food & Fitness Plan #31

Good morning SLY Friends! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! We have been in full cleaning/de-cluttering mode again (maybe still?). We are actually getting our house ready to put on the market. We're not sure how it will do, as our market hasn't fully recovered yet, but we will see. I am very pleased with how my flowerbed turned out. I am not a Gardner and actually joke that I have a black thumb, so I'm pretty happy that I have a nice looking bed. I might try to post a picture for you all later today.

 I've been working on de-cluttering the pantry, and using the things that need used. So far, it's going pretty well and I plan to continue for another week or two (or three or more). 

Here is what I have planned for this week:

Sunday - Greek Yogurt Chicken
Monday - Crockpot Lasagna
Tuesday - Grilled Kielbasa Sandwiches with Broccoli Cheese Soup
Wednesday - Crockpot Meatloaf
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Camping
Saturday - Camping

I'm not going to make a plan for my workouts. Since we've been getting the house ready, they have taken a backseat. I did get a 3 mile run in yesterday and hope to get another one in today. Other than that, I'm not putting any pressure on myself.

Irish Cream Brownies

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you're having a great week! It's a cool, rainy day in my neighborhood, but it's supposed to clear up by afternoon. I'm still working on the house trying to get everything taken care of. It's amazing how something that shouldn't take long, ends up being so much more involved than what you thought. It may be taking a while, but it's looking so nice when I'm done! LOL!

Ok, so I'm a little late in posting this recipe. But I wanted to go ahead and share it with you all before it got buried in the archives and forgotten about. I made these the week before St. Patrick's Day. I actually took them to an after hours work function to share with everyone. I like to share my goodies with my co-workers, but I didn't think these would be the best idea to bring into the office. Yes, the alcohol in them is minimal, but I didn't want to raise any eyebrows at the office right now.

These are really easy to make and have so much potential for variations.I needed to add a little bit of the extra sweetness on top to help to jazz them up a little bit. They're a little festive spin on the standard brownie that I think you'll really enjoy. Here's the recipe:

adapted from Plain Chicken
Servings: 18
Points+: 6

Brownie Mix, eggs, oil
Irish Cream liqueur

1/4 c. butter, softened
1 c. powdered sugar
1-2 T. Irish Cream liqueur
1/4 t. vanilla
1-2 T. milk

Prepare brownies in a 9x9 pan according to package directions, substituting Irish Cream for the water. Allow brownies to cool completely.

Beat 1/4 cup butter in small bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in all remaining frosting ingredients, adding enough milk for desired spreading consistency. Pipe onto cooled brownies. I also sprinkled mine with some green sugar :-) Enjoy!

Weekly Food & Fitness Plan #30

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend! As usual, it's been another busy one, but not as busy as the last couple of weeks. 

We went to the circus Friday after I got off work and then to dinner with my parents, sister and her daughter and our friends visiting from PA. 

Yesterday, Addison had her first soccer game. She did better than she did at practice, but was still pretty shy. Hopefully, she will loosen up a little more soon. Last evening, we went to TC's parents' house to celebrate my MIL's birthday. In between everything, we have been working on Spring cleaning and de-cluttering the house. It really needed it!

Ok, on to my plan for the week. My de-cluttering comes in here, too with trying to clean out the pantry and freezer.

Since we have been working on the house, my exercise has taken a back seat, so I'm not sure how much of this I will et in, but we'll see.

5 on Friday

Happy Friday everyone! We made it through another week! I thought it would be fun to do another 5 on Friday post for you. I've had a busy couple of weeks, so I wanted to share some thoughts with you all...

1. St. Patrick's Day - I love St. Patrick's Day. I'm not sure if its because of my Irish heritage or something else, but when this holiday comes around, I'm always looking for some festive things to do. People have been giving me a hard time I'm already wearing my St. Patrick's day socks. When they question them, I ask them if they only wear Christmas socks on Christmas Day (if they wear holiday socks.) I've got them there!

2. St. Patrick's Day goodies - Along with St. Patricks Day comes St. Patrick's Day goodies! I love all things green around this time. I created a Pinterest board devoted to this holiday last year. This year, I found so many more fun things to add to it!

3. New hair - I have a hair appoint my later today and I'm so torn about what to do. I've been highlighting my hair for over 15 years now. I've thought about going back to my darker color a few times in the past. For some reason, I've been thinking about it a lot more lately. So I'm not sure what to do. I'll follow up with you on this one later.

4. Out of town friends - I'm so excited that some friends of ours from PA are coming into town tomorrow. They come down every year for a visit and stay with my parents. We always try to make the most of their time while they're here. Addison loves spending time with both of them and has been looking forward to seeing them for a while now!

5. Happily ever afters - I got a phone call last night from my sister-in-law telling me she got engaged!! I'm so excited for her! We really like the guy she has been seeing and were hoping that this was going to be coming soon. So happy she found her happily ever after. (And the ring is gorgeous, too!)

Weekly Food & Fitness Plan #28

Good morning everyone! I have a very long to-do list today, so this is going to be quick. TC ended up having to unexpectedly go out of town last Monday, so my week was thrown off a good bit. The kids and I stayed with my parents for most of the week, so I didn't get a chance to do most of my meals last week, so I'm planning on them again this week. 

Sunday - Grilled Hamburgers
Monday - Chicken Stir Fry
Tuesday - Balsamic Beef
Wednesday - Spaghetti & Turkey Meat Sauce
Thursday - Honey Balsamic Chicken
Friday - Leftovers
Saturday - Dinner out

I didn't get as many workouts in as I wanted with thievery thing going on. But hopefully this week will be better. Here is how everything looked last week.

Weekly Food & Fitness Plan #27

Happy Sunday everyone. Hope you're enjoying it wherever you are! We have had a very nice weekend so far. Did some shopping yesterday with my mom and sister (and Camden) and just enjoyed spending the day with them. 

I'm one week into my 21 Day Fix. I'm pretty excited with the progress so far. I've seen a substantial drop on the scale and can't wait to see what this next week brings. I'm hoping to do a complete recap of my experience with the program for all of you once I'm done. So stay tuned for that.

Here's what I have planned for dinner this week:

Monday - Steak Fajitas
Tuesday - Balsamic Beef Roast
Wednesday - Pork Chops
Thursday - Spaghetti & Turkey Meatsauce

I'm really proud of my workouts this past week. I followed the 21 Day Fix recommendations and worked out every day.

Friday - Dirty 30
Saturday - Yoga Fix

I'm hoping to have as good of a week this week as I did last week. I'm so glad to have jump stared my weight loss again. Fingers crossed it continues.
