Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {10/16}

We're halfway done with October. How is that possible?! This last week has just been a blur filled with lots of hurricane cleanup and too many indulgences. I'm glad that I was able to reign things back in and have been doing well since Friday morning. Hoping to keep the momentum going through the rest of the week and into next.
If you're interested in joining our next challenge group, we are kicking one off that will finish just in time for Thanksgiving. The top challenger will win a cash prize, too! Let me know if you'd like more information (southliveyankee@gmail.com)  I'm definitely planning to finish the year strong!

It feels like Fall might have finally arrived in the Lowcountry. To me, that means it's soup season!! I absolutely love a delicious bowl of steamy soup. It also helps that I can use my Pioneer Woman Dutch oven. I love how pretty that thing is!!

Here's what I have planned for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Chicken Cordon Bleu
Monday - Slow Cooker Cream Cheese Chicken Chili
Tuesday - Crockpot Roast Beef
Wednesday - Baked Chicken Tenders & Spaghetti
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Out of Town
Saturday - Out of Town

Fitness Recap:
Sunday - 8.5 mile run
Monday - PiYo Sweat
Tuesday - Upper Fix
Wednesday - Lower Fix
Thursday - Total Body Cardio
Friday - Pilates Fix
Saturday - 11 mile run

I'm closing in on my half marathon. Hoping I can keep my nutrition on point between now and then so I can fuel my long runs better!

I hope you all have a great week. So long for today...

Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {10/9}

Hey there!! Well, we survived Hurricane Matthew. We decided to stay since it wasn't forecasted to be that bad. To be honest, at 3:00 am this morning, I was seriously regretting our decision to stay. You see, it was my first hurricane. I've lived here for 11 years and this is my first experience with a hurricane.

When you're in bed and hearing all of the loud noises outside, but can't see what they are, it's pretty nerve-wrecking. It's not much easier with the intense winds and rain in the daylight, but at least you know what's causing it.

Anyway, needless to say, this emotional eater was eating until her heart's content all weekend. So, it's time to get it back under control.

On a completely different note, I was able to hold Crow Pose today. I've been doing Yoga for years, but just.couldnt.get.it. I'm not sure what changed today, but I held it. Sure, it was only for a few swords, but it's definitely a start!! Ok, ok, on with the plan...

Here's what I have planned for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Dinner with my parents
Monday - Grilled Hamburgers
Tuesday - Chicken & Cheese Ravioli
Wednesday - Brinner
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Grilled Chicken Sausages
Saturday - Chicken Cordon Bleu

Fitness Recap:
I was happy to get my long run in on Sunday, but my body definitely isn't conditioned for it right now and my legs and feet pod the price for it for a couple of days. Definitely hoping to get more consistent with my running!!

Sunday - 10.5 mile run
Monday - PiYo Sweat + Core de Force MMA
Tuesday - Upper Fix Extreme
Wednesday - Lower Fix Extreme
Thursday - Yoga Fix
Friday - 4.5 mile run
Saturday - Half & Half Harder

I hope you all have a great week! So long for today...

Hey there!! Is it just is, or is everyone's life just extremely busy lately? I knew we had a lot of stuff coming up, but holy man! I feel like I can't keep up!! My eating has suffered a good bit this week, but I'm pretty happy that I was still able to stick with my workouts, even if I really wanted to go back to bed. Ha!!

We are just leaving Edisto beach this morning after spending a beautiful weekend down here. The mosquitoes were awful, but we didn't let them scare away the fun that we had! I finally got to meet another woman that was in the FB pregnancy group that I joined when I was preggers with Camden. It took us a few years, but we finally got our families together. Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {8/28}

Hey there!! How has your weekend been? We've had a busy but very nice one so far. Last night I was able to catch up with an old high school friend that loves a couple of hours away. It was so nice to get together, but I was up way past my bedtime and didn't sleep very well. Needless to say, this morning's run took everything I had!

My cleanse is kicking off Monday morning. I'm trying to prepare for it with meal planning/food prep and mentally as well. Clean eating is definitely worth it, but not always easy! Having everything planned out and prepped ahead of time is something I've found to be key to success!!

I know things will get a bit more hectic once those are added into the mix. I also have jump into coordinating a Color 5k race in my town that is coming in December. I'm really excited about it, but know that things will be crazy for a while. I guess I thought life wasn't crazy enough already!!

Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {8/8}

Well, it's the last week of Summer break in our house. I don't understand parents that get excited when school starts again. Life is so much more hectic and stressful during the school year.

We came up to Carowinds for a little more family fun. It was pretty hot and we ended up in the water park earlier than when we usually go.
This is me trying to stay hydrated in the heat.

They expanded the water area over the off season and the kids love it. The only problem is when you have other (bigger) kiddos that lack the respect and manners and push my kids out of the way. We got frustrated and headed back to the campground to enjoy the pool there and relax for the evening. It was nice to cook our own dinner and save a little extra money.

Here's the plan for the week...

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Cheeseburger Egg Rolls
Monday - Pasta with Turkey Meatsauce
Tuesday - Turkey Tacos
Wednesday - Leftovers
Thursday - Baked Chicken Tenders
Friday - Grilled Turkey Cutlets
Saturday - Grilled Hamburgers

Fitness Recap:
Since I had to work on Friday and we came up to Carowinds, I didn't get any runs in this weekend. But maybe that's a good this to rest the foot a little more.
Sunday - 3.1 mile run
Monday - JM Body Revolution Workout 9
Tuesday - JM Body Revolution Workout 10
Wednesday - 21 DFX Yoga Fix
Thursday - JM Body Revolution Workout 9
Friday - 22 Minute Hard Corps Core 2
Saturday - Rest Day

I hope you all have a great week!

Hey guys! Can't you believe that August starts Monday?! This summer is FLYING by! I can't believe that school starts here in a couple of weeks. So crazy! Before you know it, pumpkin spiced everything will be popping up all over the place again.

Anyway, I hope you're having a great weekend! Ours has been so busy and absolutely exhausting!! We are shopping for a new truck for TC and I absolutely hate it!! I think I would just about do anything else except this. Seriously. I felt like I needed a shower after we got home!

We are headed out of town camping next weekend, so my meal plan is in the air for a couple of days and I won't be able to get my run in on Saturday and probably not Sunday morning either. So, my August miles probably won't be looking that good. #runnerproblems

Here is how our week is shaping up...

Monday - Grilled Swai
Tuesday - Turkey Tacos
Wednesday - Crockpot Beef Roast
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Dinner on the way out of town

I had a pretty good week in workouts. It took me a couple of days to get back into the groove with the 4 am club, but I was there by the end of the week. I'm currently dealing with the plantar fasciitis as well as some shoulder pain. I went to my chiropractor yesterday and we have a plan of attack. Fingers crossed that it works! Wednesday - JM Body Revolution Workout 7

Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {7/3}

Hey there! Happy Independence Day weekend. So glad we made it through the week and I'm enjoying a nice weekend at home. We are planning to have a little cookout at our house tomorrow, so I'm getting things lined up for that. It's nothing big, just some close family/friends. I'm so glad that I'm finally feeling better. My cough is trying to hang on, but I've just about kicked it. I've welcomed the sun on my runs the last two days. I usually love a sunrise, but they make for a pretty sweaty long run!

I'm excited about a new s'mores recipe that I'm going to try...maybe tomorrow. If it turns out, I'll be sharing it on the blog soon!

Here's what I have planned for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Grilled Leg Quarters
Monday - Grilled Hamburgers
Tuesday - Black Bean Pasta with Turkey Meatsauce
Wednesday - Brinner
Thursday - Grilled Pork Chops
Friday - Chicken Stir Fry
Saturday - Grilled Chicken

Fitness Recap:
This week was a weird week for my workouts. I caught this chest congestion thing and just wasn't feeling an early morning workout by Thursday. I did push to finish out my 50 miles for Jine at lunch though. So, that's better than nothing. I tried for a 10 mile run Friday, but had to settle for a 10k and drag myself back at that point. So glad I got those 10 miles in in Saturday though!

Sunday - 5.15 mile run
Monday - Body Revolution Workout 5
Tuesday - Body Revolution Workout 6
Wednesday - Body Revolution Workout 5
Thursday - 2.82 mile run
Friday - 6.22 mile run

I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend! God Bless America!!

So long for today...

Good morning from the beach! I just finished my run and am enjoying the absolutely beautiful morning while the rest of the family sleeps in. We've had a great time this weekend. This is definitely one of my favorite camping spots.

For the first time in awhile, I think we're NOT going to have a busy week! When was the last time I said that?! I'm hoping that nothing comes up to make me regret saying that though! I've definitely had many splurges this weekend, so it's  one to reign things in and get back on track this week.

Here's what I have planned:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Cheddar Ranch Chicken
Monday - Summer Vegetables with Sausage & Potatoes
Tuesday - Grilled Swai
Wednesday - Italian Baked Chicken Tenders
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Grilled Hamburgers
Saturday - Grilled Turkey Brats

Fitness Recap:
I took advantage of the opportunity and got my own 10k in yesterday morning. I'm still dealing with some pain in my left foot. I'm not sure what is causing it. Odd enough, it hurts more when I walk than when I run. Anyway...

Sunday - 4 mile run
Monday - PiYo Core
Tuesday - PiYo Sweat
Wednesday - 22 Minute Hard Corps Cardio 1
Thursday - Total Body Chisel
Friday - Yoga Fix Extreme
Saturday - 6.35 mile run

I hope you all have a great week! I might get crazy and post a new recipe soon!

So long for today...

Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {5/8ish}

Hey there!! Sorry for the late post this week, but we had a weekend chocked full of some exciting stuff! Addison's 7th birthday was on Friday. We went out to dinner to celebrate with my family and then had some DQ ice cream cake for dessert. Saturday was party central at our house. Addison wanted a luau to celebrate, so I did everything I could to give her the Hawaiian experience.
Most of the guests left in the early afternoon, my my family stayed and we kept the party going until the sun went down. I'm so thankful that my family stays to help clean up after these kinds of events!! It definitely helps to lighten our load at the end of the day!

Mother's Day started with a 5 mile run, followed by some strawberry picking and more family time. It's weekends like these that remind me of how blessed I really am!

Here's how this week is looking for us:

Menu Plan:

Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {3/6}

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you're having as fantastic of a weekend as we are! Today was such a great day! It started off pretty chilly, but the sun was bright and it warmed up (enough for a run) pretty quickly. I was able to get a 5 mile run in and felt pretty good. My muscles were pretty sore after the strength training that I did this past week, so it felt good to be able to get out and get a run in. It took a little while to get those legs warmed up, but I didn't mind.

After the run, we started working on some outside home improvement. Since we moved into the house almost a year and a half ago, we haven't taken the time to clean up the landscaping in front of the house. It took a while and lots of effort, but we got it done. It looks so much better than it did before. I'm so glad we finally got it done!

I'm starting the "Lean in 13" program on Monday. It uses Advocare products, but it isn't promoted by AdvoCare. Instead it was developed by a distributor that is also a registered dietician. I'm looking forward to reving up my metabolism and hopefully toning those muscles!

Here's what I have planned for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Baked Crescent Chicken
Monday - Grilled Turkey Patties
Tuesday - Salsa Verde Chicken Tacos
Wednesday - Grilled Pork Chops
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Grilled Swai
Saturday - Grilled Hamburgers

Fitness Recap:
Sunday - 6.2 mile run
Monday - Rest Day
Tuesday - LoveFit Chest & Triceps
Wednesday - LiveFit Back & Biceps
Thursday - LiveFit Legs
Friday - LiveFit Shoulders & Abs
Saturday - 5 mile run

I'm still loving this LiveFit Program that I've been following. Things change up this week. I'm excited and nervous at the same time! Lol!

I hope you all have a great week!

So long for today...

Hey there!! Has anyone watched Fuller House yet? Full House was one of my favorites growing up and I'd love to watch this new show. I'm seeing so many people talking about watching it! But we are one of the only families left that doesn't have NetFlix. Whomp, whomp.

Anyway... I hope you're all having a good weekend! Mine has been great so far! Yesterday, was my day off, so I took full advantage! After dropping Addison off at school, I went to the gym and had a great workout. Then I had breakfast and went to the chiropractor for a message and adjustment! We picked Addison up from school and had family movie night (The Good Dinosaur was such a cute movie!)
Today, we worked around the house a bit, went to pick up the camper where we camped last weekend (we weren't sure what the weather was going to be like, so thought we might camp again this weekend) where I got in a 3 mile run.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!! I hope you're all staying warm and safe wherever you are. It's a chilly weekend here. It got even chillier for us yesterday, too when the water heater started acting up. After trying to repair the one we have, they decided it wasn't worth it and went to pick up a new one. Unfortunately, neither Lowes or Home Depot had one, but Amazon came through, as usual. So, come Wednesday evening, we'll be back in service!! We're still trying to figure out what to do until then, but I know we will somehow manage :-)

Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {2/7ish}

I can't believe I'm so late getting this posted. Life has been super busy lately...all good things though :-) I went to a ladies AdvoCare event last Thursday. The speaker was Dr. Ajia Brameus from the science and medical board. She was so informative. I could have listened to her talk for hours. I love that Advocare is all about informing people about not only their products, but health in general.

It's going to be a (relatively) cold week this week. It's a good thing I have soup planned for a couple of days!!  Since it's going to be chilly, my running will have to be put on the back burner. I am a Southernized Yankee and I don't like running in the cold!! People always think this is funny, but I never ran until after I loved South.

Here's what I have planned for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Super Bowl Fare
Monday - Chicken Stir Fry
Tuesday - Tacos
Wednesday - Crockpot Chicken Parmesan
Thursday - Slow Cooker Chicken Fajita Soup
Friday - Homemade Pizza
Saturday - Sausage & Bean Soup w/ Pasta

Fitness Recap:
Sunday - 5 mile run
Monday - 21 DF Upper Fix
Tuesday - Rest Day
Wednesday - 21 DF Lower Fix
Thursday - 21 DF Total Body Cardio Fix
Friday - 21 DF Yoga Fix
Saturday - 21 DF Cardio Fix

I hope you all have a great week!

So long for today...
