WIAW on the Advocare Cleanse

Hey there! I thought I would do a quick recap of what I've been eating so far on the 10 Day Cleanse. I'm on to day 3 and feeling so great! It's amazing how much better you feel once you start getting all of the processed foods out and the good stuff in!
Every morning starts off with my Catalyst and Spark before my morning workout.

Then, I take my probiotics after I drop Addison off at school.

Breakfast:
I've had the same thing for breakfast the last 2 days. I made some egg cups with ground turkey, peppers and onions and a salt free all-purpose seasoning that I mixed up. I added some steel cut oatmeal made with unsweetened almond/coconut milk and some cinnamon along with my Fiber drink.

Morning Snacks:
For my snacks both days, I had the hard-boiled eggs that I prepped. Monday I added some pineapple to the eggs.

Tuesday, I had some mixed fruit with my hard-boiled eggs.

Lunch:
Lunch was the same for both days. I ate the grilled chicken breast that I made over the weekend along with half of a sweet potato and some asparagus that I had roasted as well.

Afternoon Snacks:
My afternoon snacks were completely different (are you shocked?!):
Monday, I had an apple with some natural (no sugar added) peanut butter sprinkled with some unsweetened coconut.

On Tuesday, I had a Gingerbread AdvoBar (My favorite) with a clementine. Quick and easy!

Dinner:
Dinner Monday was a typical Monday meal for us. Grilled turkey patties, brown rice and broccoli.

On Tuesday, I made some Salsa Chicken in the slow cooker with some no salt added black beans. So easy and delicious. Bonus that the kids like it, too!

I also blended half of a frozen banana with a bit of unsweetened almond/coconut milk for a little something sweet after dinner.

Every night, I take my herbal cleanse tablets before I go to bed with a glass of water to end my day. (I keep forgetting to take a picture of these.)

I'm loving this ALL IN 24 Day Challenge and can't wait to see my results at the end. I had to do a little extra planning with our camping trip coming up this weekend.

In my opinion, the key is to keep it simple. Don't overthink things. Meals and snacks can be pretty easy as long as you plan them out. That is the biggest thing. MEAL PREP and MEAL PLANNING!!! If you get these two things down, your challenge will be easy peasy!

I hope you're all having a great week!

A Clean Eating WIAW {10/14}

Good morning SLY friends! In an attempt to be more accountable, I thought maybe I'd post another WIAW update. I'm participating in a clean eating challenge this week with one of my blogger mamas. It's amazing how mentally challenging something like this is for me. As soon as I know I have to restrict myself, I all of the sudden want all.the.junk!! THIS is why Weightwatchers works so well for me. Anyway, with my birthday last week and camping over the weekend, I had gotten pretty far off track with my eating, so I figured some clean eating was just what this body needed.

I did pretty well with my eating on Monday (as you'll see in this post) but Tuesday was a bit of a struggle for me. As I've mentioned before, I am so incredibly structured and a creature of habit. So, when my day didn't go as planned, I got a little derailed. I had my lunch packed, but yesterday was my supervisors birthday and we all decided to go out to lunch. I still did pretty good by ordering a grilled shrimp salad, but it still wasn't what inhadbplanned for ther day. I ended up having a pretty indulgent brownie when we got back to the office. I also had some extra snacks and even though they were still clean eats, I hadn't planned on them. Ah well, what can you do. I am determined to make today a better day though!

So, if you've read this far, Thank You and let's finally get to the A from WIAW:

Breakfast:
Eggs with sweet potato hash and pineapple

Snack:
Almonds and clementines

Lunch:
TJ's Chicken Chile Lime burger and green beans

Snack:
                          And
Hard boiled eggs and grapes

Dinner:
Grilled pork chops, brown rice and broccoli (pretty typical of a Monday meal.

I also had some stove popped popcorn during lunch, too. It's become one of my favorite snacks!!

So, there you have it!! My attempt at a clean eating WIAW. What have you had on your plate lately?

I hope you all have a great day!

An Almost On-Plan WIAW {3/4}

Hey there! How is the weather where you are? Have I officially gotten old because I talk about the weather? Are you all tired of hearing people talk about the weather? I don’t know about where you are, but I’m pretty excited about the weather here.
At least for the next two days…after that. I don’t want to talk about it.

I’m trying so hard to get back on track with my eating. For some reason, I took a hiatus from being on-plan. I blame it on stress about the house. But maybe I’m just looking for an excuse. Either way, I’m really trying to reign everything back in and get it under control. I’ve still been keeping up with my workouts, it just the whole food thing that gives me issues. And I do really well for an entire day, then I blow it. Check out my WIAW from Monday to see what I mean…

Breakfast:
I’m trying to change things up a little bit. So I had one hardboiled egg, plus one egg white (2PP) along with some Greek yogurt (2PP) for breakfast.

Snack:
I had an apple with some PB2 (1PP) for my morning snack.

Lunch:
Still trying to keep up the change, I had a ham and cheese sandwich (5PP) for lunch with some cracker chips (1PP) and carrots.

Snack:
Afternoon snack was 1/8 c. (3PP) of peanuts with some strawberries.

Dinner:
We had grilled pork chops (4PP) with brown rice (3PP) and broccoli for dinner. Yes, I pretty much always have some kind of protein with brown rice and broccoli for dinner on Mondays. The family isn’t complaining (yet) so I’m going to stick with it.

Dessert:
I found a WW mini ice cream cone (2PP)buried in the freezer for dessert. I forgot how much I love these things!

So I did really well during the day and even into the evening. I had a totally OP day…until I had some more ice cream. I didn’t track it and I didn’t take a picture of it. It was light, but definitely not necessary. The only good thing is that I finished the carton and have no plans to buy more, so I won’t be tempted by it again.

Anyway, I could have done much worse, but could have done better, too. Oh well. You can’t win them all…

I’m linking up with Jen from Peas and Crayons for the link-up today.

I hope you all have a great Wednesday!

So long for today…

Snow/Ice Day + WIAW

Happy hump day everyone!! Are you all hunkered down to weather the storm? The weatherman said we were supposed to get some bad weather last night and today, so school was cancelled, which means that daycare was closed. So this mama is home with her kiddos today. Wish TC were here with us, but we are making the best of it.

I've had 2 on-plan days in a row so far and I'm hoping to have another one today. Being at home makes it a little harder, so we will see. I think I can, I think I can :-)

I remembered to take a picture of all of my healthy eats on Monday and thought I would join in WIAW this week.

Breakfast:

1 egg + 1 egg white, a whole wheat Sandwich Thin with spray butter and sugar free jelly and a banana

Snack:
Granola bar and some strawberries

Lunch:

Ham & cheese wrap with some Pepperidge Farms Baked Naturals and a green smoothie

Snack:
Light string cheese and an apple

Dinner:
Turkey taco salad

Dessert:
Fiber One Lemon Bar

I'm pretty proud of my choices. Getting back in plan is hard! I'm hoping this motivation stays. Wish me luck!

Ok, time to go help Addison finish up her Valentines for her school party on Friday and maybe start working on her cupcakes, too.

So long for today...
