Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {2/28}

Hey there!! Has anyone watched Fuller House yet? Full House was one of my favorites growing up and I'd love to watch this new show. I'm seeing so many people talking about watching it! But we are one of the only families left that doesn't have NetFlix. Whomp, whomp.

Anyway... I hope you're all having a good weekend! Mine has been great so far! Yesterday, was my day off, so I took full advantage! After dropping Addison off at school, I went to the gym and had a great workout. Then I had breakfast and went to the chiropractor for a message and adjustment! We picked Addison up from school and had family movie night (The Good Dinosaur was such a cute movie!)
Today, we worked around the house a bit, went to pick up the camper where we camped last weekend (we weren't sure what the weather was going to be like, so thought we might camp again this weekend) where I got in a 3 mile run.
Then came home and had my family over for dinner. Tomorrow will be the usual for me...church, grocery shopping, laundry and meal/food prep.

So, here's what I'm planning for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Grilled London Broil
Monday - Grilled Honey Lime Chicken
Tuesday - Turkey Tacos
Wednesday - White Bean Chicken Chili
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Chicken Rollatini

I hope you all have a great week!

Friday "Fun" 2/19

Alright, I know. I've been a terrible blogger lately. I promise, it's not you. It's me. Life has been pretty chaotic lately. (Do I say that all the time?!) it's really thrown this super structured person for a loop not to have the regular routine going. So, I thought I would take some time to "catch up" with you all. I guess this could have also have been a Life Lately post, but since it's Friday, I went with it. I'm not even going to number these, because I honestly have no idea where this post will go. So, let's get to it...

This forecast. I'm so excited for this weekend. I haven't been able to run for a few weeks and I'm really looking forward to getting some miles in. Which brings me to...

...this shirt. Do I really need to say anymore?!

This book! Have you read it? It was so good! I get so obsessed when I start a book...just ask TC. This one took a bit to get into, and I was so annoyed at the main character pretty often, but the HUGE twist towards the end made all of those frustrations worth it.

This challenge. It's honestly life changing. I've learned so much about nutrition, how to eat and what my body really needs through Advocare. It all started with a challenge. If 24 Days is too much, the cleanse might be for you. Seriously, whatever your needs or budget, we can find something that works for you. Just shoot me an email: southliveyankee@gmail.com. Which leads me to...

...this company. I've feel that I've grown so much since I got serious about this. I'm such a more positive person. I'm learning to walk away from the drama in life and focus on the good things more than dwell on the bad. Crazy to think that a direct sales company could have such an impact, right? If you're looking for a change, it could have the same effect on you. I'm always looking to expand my team!

And finally, this water heater. Our water heater went out on us last weekend. It was limping along for a couple of weeks and finally gave out. We knew this was coming and thanks to Amazon Prime, we were able to save money and have it in just a few days. Thanks to my parents for letting us and the kids take over their house for a couple of days!!

Ok, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!! We will be camping, so be on the lookout for lots of fun pictures!

So long for today...

Weekly Meal Plan & Fitness Recap {2/14}

Happy Valentines Day everyone!! I hope you're all staying warm and safe wherever you are. It's a chilly weekend here. It got even chillier for us yesterday, too when the water heater started acting up. After trying to repair the one we have, they decided it wasn't worth it and went to pick up a new one. Unfortunately, neither Lowes or Home Depot had one, but Amazon came through, as usual. So, come Wednesday evening, we'll be back in service!! We're still trying to figure out what to do until then, but I know we will somehow manage :-)

This morning, I'm thankful that my mom is willing to share her Spark with me :-)

This schedule will most likely change, but here is what I am thinking about for this week...

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Creamy Chicken Noodle Casserole
Monday - Crockpot Roast Beef
Tuesday - Sausage & Bean Soup with Pasta
Wednesday - Grilled Shrimp
Thursday - Chick Fil a Spirit Night
Friday - Big Mac Attack
Saturday - Chicken Rollatini

Monday - 21 DF Dirty 30
Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - 21 DF Lower Fix

Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {2/7ish}

I can't believe I'm so late getting this posted. Life has been super busy lately...all good things though :-) I went to a ladies AdvoCare event last Thursday. The speaker was Dr. Ajia Brameus from the science and medical board. She was so informative. I could have listened to her talk for hours. I love that Advocare is all about informing people about not only their products, but health in general.

It's going to be a (relatively) cold week this week. It's a good thing I have soup planned for a couple of days!!  Since it's going to be chilly, my running will have to be put on the back burner. I am a Southernized Yankee and I don't like running in the cold!! People always think this is funny, but I never ran until after I loved South.

Here's what I have planned for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Super Bowl Fare
Monday - Chicken Stir Fry
Tuesday - Tacos
Wednesday - Crockpot Chicken Parmesan
Thursday - Slow Cooker Chicken Fajita Soup
Friday - Homemade Pizza
Saturday - Sausage & Bean Soup w/ Pasta

Fitness Recap:
Sunday - 5 mile run
Monday - 21 DF Upper Fix
Tuesday - Rest Day
Wednesday - 21 DF Lower Fix
Thursday - 21 DF Total Body Cardio Fix
Friday - 21 DF Yoga Fix
Saturday - 21 DF Cardio Fix

I hope you all have a great week!

Weekly Menu Plan & Fitness Recap {1/31}

Wow!! Is today really the last day of January? Doesn't it seem like we JUST had New Year's and now, we're getting ready to see what Punxsutawney Phil has to say about Winter. Fingers crossed that he predicts an early Spring, but with the way the last few weeks have gone, I'd be betting on 6 more weeks of winter. Whomp, whomp.

Fun fact: My hometown is about 40 minutes from Punxsutawney. I visited my great aunt and uncle there many times and both of my kids have been to see Phil.

I'm so happy that I'm finally feeling like myself again. I had a great 5 mile run yesterdat and might try to get another run in later today after we get home from church!!

Here's what I have planned for the week:

Menu Plan:
Sunday - Oven Roasted Chicken
Monday - Pasta & Turkey Meatsauce
Tuesday - Grilled Honey Lime Chicken
Wednesday - Grilled Shrimp
Thursday - Leftovers
Friday - Brinner
Saturday - Grilled Hamburgers

Friday - 21 DF Plyo Fix
Saturday - 5.05 mile run

Crockpot Balsamic Chicken Breasts

Good evening everyone!! It was a beautiful day in the Lowcountry today and was supposed to be almost 70 degrees! I'm not sure what the temperature actually made it up to, but man was a a gorgeous day! I'll take as many of these as Mother Nature will allow us!

I tried a new recipe last night and it was really good (and easy). I wasn't really planni to do a post about it, but it ended up being so good and I had a couple of people asking for the recipe, so I thought I would throw it up on this here blog for you all to try. (Please excuse the less than stellar iPhone pictures being used and thank you to Donna for giving me permission to use the above pic.) This recipe came from an informational packet that I got from Advocare. I'm not sure if they are the original source for it, so please forgive me if there is someone else that is due credit for it. Another bonus about this recipe is that it fits into the 10 Day Cleanse and the 24 Day Challenge. All clean ingredients! Yay!

Here's the recipe:

Crockpot Balsamic Chicken Breasts
Servings: 4

1 T. olive oil

4 garlic cloves, minced

4 chicken breasts, sliced in half lengthwise

1 t. salt

1 t. pepper

3 t. minced dried onion

2 t. dried basil

¾ c. balsamic vinegar

Add the oil and garlic to the bottom of the crockpot or slow cooker.  Mix dry seasonings together in a small bowl.  Sprinkle seasoning mixture over both sides of each piece of chicken and lay chicken in crockpot.  Pour balsamic vinegar over the breasts.  Cover and cook on low 3 – 3.5 hours or until chicken is no longer pink.

I'd love to know what you all think of this if you try it! So, please be sure to check back and leave a comment if you do!

I finally got a workout in today after taking 3 rest days. This illness has been kicking my bootay since Friday! With the exception of an issue going on with my eye, I think I might finally be on the mend! Headed to an opthamologist tomorrow to deal with the eye, so planning (and hoping) to be 100% very soon!!

I hope you all have a great rest of you week!

So long for today...
